I pinpointed what was causing it and it now is fixed. Without going into too much detail, after re-inserting the text into the EBOOT it was making the image that appears above the dialog box when someone is speaking (I'm assuming it's the character name) simply not be loaded and shown. The text re-insertion for the EBOOT is now working properly. I know of at least one other rom hacker that expressed interest in this game and is qualified to handle the game.
